Platform: Windows (All Versions)

Review by George Norman (Cybersecurity Editor)

California-based company Hitek Software is well-known for its automation software products. The company offers automation software to companies and businesses that want to automate tasks and thus get things done more efficiently. Out of all the products Hitek Software has to offer, I would like to focus on JaBack – a tool that can be used to automate backup, synchronization, and archiving tasks.

JaBack is available for the two most popular platforms out there, Microsoft’s Windows operating system and Apple’s Mac OS X. Focusing on Windows alone, I have to say that installing JaBack is an effortless task. It’s just what you would expect: download an installer, run it, go through the onscreen instructions presented by a setup wizard.

When you’re done with the installation and you run JaBack for the first time, a Service Manager prompt will show up on the application’s interface and will invite you to install the JaBack service. Since we’re speaking about the interface, there are a couple of things that must be mentioned: access to the interface can be password protected; several platform look options are available in the Setting menu.

Switching from the visual to the functional, here’s a quick look at the functionality JaBack has to offer: keep your data safe from data loss accidents by automating backup tasks; manually run backup tasks if you want to; easily restore data in case of an accident; transfer backup set to remote locations; easy to use interface and easy to use scheduler; set up email notifications; monitor local directories.

JaBack is free software.

Data loss accidents are a big nuisance, so don’t let them impact you. Get JaBack and use it to automate backup tasks.

Pros

JaBack is available for multiple platforms: Windows and Mac. Installing JaBack on a Windows PC is a simple task. Access to the interface can be password protected. Several platform look options for the interface are available in the Setting menu. Use JaBack to automate backup, synchronization, and archiving tasks. JaBack is free software.

Cons

Inexperienced users are advised to get a data backup solution that is a bit easier to use.
